From Exit 407 off I-40, take Hwy. 66 southbound. Continue on Hwy 66 for about 6 miles to the first major intersection (Hwy 66 and 411) in Sevierville. Hwy 66 becomes US 441 South (known by locals as the Parkway). Continue straight ahead on US 441/the Parkway. The Parkway will take you through Sevierville and into Pigeon Forge.

You know you’re in Pigeon Forge when you start seeing numbered traffic lights. All through Pigeon Forge, the lights are numbered from #1 to #10.

If you want to go into Gatlinburg and/or the Great Smoky Mountain Parkway, keep going and watch for a large sign that says "leaving Pigeon Forge." Continue on the Parkway for the next 5 miles to Gatlinburg (this section of road is known as “the Spur.”). Once in Gatlinburg, you’ll arrive at traffic light #3 at the intersection of  Hwy 321/East Parkway.

Avoiding Traffic

On weekends and during holidays and the high season, traffic from I-40, Exit 407 on Hwy 66 and the Parkway to Gatlinburg can have very long delays. You can avoid this by using alternate exits to Gatlinburg! Depending on the direction you are traveling, you may want to use exit 443/Foothills Parkway.

Road Closures

* Winter Road closures may affect travel through Park:
When there is snow in the Smokies, the National Park Service will mandate road closures affecting Exit 443/Foothills Parkway (and Hwy 441 through the Smoky Mountains). Check for temporary road closures on the National Park's web page call them at 865-436-1200.
If I-40 exit Exit 443 is closed you may use Exit 412 (less traffic) or
407.
